Strong Entertainment Line-Up For Rhino Rally
Hartbeespoort Resort, 7-9 September 2018
Heuning, DZL, Clint & Co, Backbone, Black Water, Andre van der Rheede, Le Riche Brothers…
The Rhino Rally kicks off this weekend at the Hartbeespoort Holiday Resort and boasts a strong line-up of entertainment for this year to coincide with the iconic rally’s move to the Hartbeespoort.
The Hartbeespoort Holiday Resort also hosts the Impala Rally, the Pretoria Toy Run, the popular Blikkiesfees, with 8000 entries this year, Om Die Dam running race (14000 entries), Classic car annual meander and thousands of holidaymakers throughout the year. It boasts 20 hectares of trees, green grass, a camping and caravanning area, accommodations ranging from safari tents to log cabins to normal and luxury chalets, four pools, three big slides, a Skylounge sundowner bar, a built-in stage, a restaurant and a newly-retarred road outside it.
The rally, dubbed “The Revived Rhino” will feature various popular food stall, a flea market, a host of entertainment and a new line-up of bands. Among the six bands are Afrikaans ones like Andre “Die Heupe” Van Der Rheede, who is alive and energetic, interacts well with the audience, has many dedicated biker fans and will do three one hour appearances at the Rhino.
And DZL (pronounced “Diesel”) will be there. “DZL are known as South Africa’s sexiest boy band and we sure can’t argue,” wrote Getit magazine. The culprits are Andries Hendrik Potgieter and Wiaan Fourie, both professional models as well as singers, together since 2014.
The Heuning duo do “Tipiese Afrikaans musiek met ‘n nuwe country klank wat jong mense ook sal geniet,” said Jeanette, the beautiful blonde lead singer. They also do rock and covers in English and Afrikaans.
And, naturally, regular rally music legends like Clint & Co, Backbone and Black Water will be there.
The latest addition to the Rhino Rally are the famous Le Riche brothers stunt riders on the Saturday, with a show in the morning and the afternoon. And maybe a third show could be squeezed in on the already busy schedule.
An interesting feature of the Rhino Rally will be the “Voortrekker Braai” on Tuesday evening 4th September for those who are making use of the free stay at the resort up to rally’s Friday 7th September start, to get to know each other.
Entrance is R250 per person with the fee being reduced on Saturday 8 September to R150 per person. Cars will be R200 per vehicle.
