King of the Whip competition date set
2 Feb 2019, Biker’s Warehouse
The famous King of the Whip competition is again set to take place in February next year, again in collaboration with Monster Energy and again taking place at Biker’s Warehouse in Randburg.
King of the Whip works like this – a group of SA’s top motocross riders, FMX riders and dirt racers hit a giant, lit ramp on the grounds at Biker’s Warehouse, and pull off the biggest whips they can. The rider that impresses the judges the most throughout the various rounds will be crowned King of the Whip.
This year there will be additional crownings for best FMX trick with two categories – right way up and wrong way up. What this means is that there will be a prize for the best trick without doing a backflip or, as things have progressed these days, a front flip, plus there will be a prize for people crazy enough to go upside-down while 30 metres in the air.
It is a festive affair with great commentary and spectators can see the whole show from one place. Biker’s Warehouse is situated in Northriding, Randburg, and is walking distance from most people’s homes. Most importantly, spectator entrance is free.
Any riders who can either whip or jump 21 metres from a steel take off and want to take part in the event are asked to send photos or videos to the organisers at Locally Whipped. You can open an email by clicking here.
