Impala Rally updates: Entertainment and programme announced
The Impala Rally is taking place this weekend (9-11 March) at the famous Hartbeespoort Holiday Resort near the dam at Hartbeespoort and the surrounding Magaliesberg Mountains. It is one of the big events on the biking social calendar and certainly one of the biggest, if not the biggest, motorcycle rallyies in the country.
Obviously there will be stacks of entertainment from the Friday until late on Saturday night, and the organisers have announced the details:
Bands include the famous Clint & Co on Friday night, led by the ever entertaining Clint Cunningham who has become somewhat of an international sensation after performing various shows in the States and Dubai.
Friday’s daytime band will be the popular Dixie Hillbillies, while Durban rock band Templar Funk will take over duties in the early evening on Friday and Saturday with Backbone playing before and after prize-giving on Saturday. Between the bands, the popular biker DJ, Herbey’s Disco, will be playing music.
Daytime Saturday’s entertainment includes world famous star Nick De Wit and his gang of FMX extreme stunt riders doing all sorts of death-defying stunts. Midday on Saturday will see the popular professional wrestlers jumping, tackling, shouting and doing everything that makes professional wrestling so good.
Apart from the entertainment, there will be the usual bars, beer tents, food stalls, flea market, swimming pools, two big water slides, trees and green grass. Entry is R250 per person (kids under 12 are free) with the gate staying open 24 hours from Thursday morning, and Saturday sees a special reduced price of R150. Cars are R200 to enter the site.
