Brad Binder at Mugello: “Last year I took off from 24th and finished 10th”
Brad Binder is taking part in the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello this weekend and so far has not had the best time of things. Friday saw him finish 16th in the first session and 17th in the second. Saturday didn’t go too much better where he was 14th in FP3 and Qualified 19th. This may sound like he was way down on pace, but he was just 0.8 sec from the polesitter.
Most of this comes from simple lack of confidence in the corners, something you might say is vital to setting good lap times. Despite the team working all weekend and trying different things, a good balance seems to have escaped them. The plus side is that Mugello is an easy place to make up ground, as what happened last year.
“We have found something that seems to work better, but it’s unbalanced the bike in other aspects, so the position is still not good. We couldn’t set a good time, so this is the result we have at the moment. It’s clear that there is something that we are missing, but the only thing we can do now is continue working hard and try to find something new that will help us.
It is important to stay focused and continue to strive as before to find something that makes us feel more comfortable. Tomorrow I will give my all; I will try to make a good start to get overtaking as soon as possible. Last year I took off from 24th and finished 10th, so I hope I can do the same tomorrow.”
