Biker’s Warehouse Demo Week – 12 bikes to ride

Anyone who missed the test rides at the South Africa Bike Festival last weekend, you are in luck. Biker’s Warehouse in Northriding, Randburg, is hosting their Demo Week where they have 12 of the latest choices from Suzuki or Husqvarna on hand for demo rides. All you need is a valid motorcycle licence and off you go.

The demo fleet they have include the new retro rides from Husqvarna, namely the Vitpilen and Svartpilen 401. Both feature the same 373cc single-cylinder motor that pushes 44hp and 37Nm torque, and both feature the same steel-trellis frame, however the Vitpilen adopts a sort of neo-cafe racer theme, while the Svartpilen a more rugged, off-road look.

Obviously, they also have the Vitpilen 701, with the same motor as that of their now famous 701 Motard and Enduro. The 692cc motor pushes 75hp and 71Nm of torque propelling a motorcycle so small that it wouldn’t look out of place with the Lego logo on its tank. Please go try it.

With the Husqvarnas is a plethora of Suzukis available for demo, pretty much their whole range of new bikes. There’s the obvious monster – the GSXR1000 with 200hp, an excellent chassis and all the electronic space-age bits you could want, and its available for anyone to ride. The evergreen SV650 will be there, with its cousin, the DL650 V-Strom, the DL1000 V-Strom and the new DL250 baby-strom making its first appearance in the sunlight. Then there is its road racing cousin, GSX-250R.

There are other rides for people wanting something on the more chilled side of life, namely the UR-110, GS-150 and the GSX-150F.

The Biker’s Warehouse Demo continues until 6 June.
