328 km/h on a Ducati Panigale V4R
We are not entirely sure where this video was shot – we would love to report with sanctimonious maturity that it was on the de-limited Autobahn in Germany but, sadly, they appear to be travelling on the incorrect side of the road. We suspect that it is in the Island nation of Malaysia where, we have experienced, speed limits seem to see less enforcement than many other nations; dare we say, like South Africa?
The video is an onboard shot of a Ducati Panigale V4R storming down a wide, slightly downhill motorway. The 221hp machine starts at a “calm” 190 km/h in fifth gear before opening the gas and blasting up to a speed of 328 km/h.
What was fun to watch is how effortlessly the machine gains speed, crossing the 300 km/h without even sweating. In fact, it clicks into top gear as it reaches the 300 km/h mark.
The Panigale V4R is Ducati’s flagship superbike, a special build designed to take on the World Superbike Championship. With trick wheels, it retails in South Africa at R710,000.
