Bike Buyers Tip: What is the best used motorcycle to buy?
Bike Buyers is in the business of purchasing motorcycles which find themselves on the showroom floor of the famous Fire It Up dealership in Fourways, and the number of motorcycles on the Fire It Up floor suggests they are damn good at what they do. Collectively, they have many decades of bike buying experience and will be sharing their knowledge with The Bike Show Website every Monday offering tips, advice, guidance and warnings regarding your bike buying or selling experience. For this week’s tip, we look into the question – what is the best used bike to buy?
At The Bike Show, we are often asked the question – what is the best used bike to buy? This is an understandably vague question to answer because it depends on a million variables, however, we thought maybe Bike Buyers has some advice that is more intelligent than our gormless responses that consist mostly of bewildered stares.
The bike buying guru himself, Craig Langton, gave us some insight. Herewith:
“The best bike to buy is the one that you’re in love with. Before committing you have to test ride the bike as the bike you always dreamed of might not be what you imagined.
I always say its more important where you buy than what you buy. Do your research and ensure that you are buying a motorcycle, even if it’s your second choice, from a trustworthy dealer that will be there should Murphy strike, and he does.
If financing your bike, don’t be drawn to an instalment only – evaluate how the instalment was created and of course what your insurance, depreciation and running costs as they can be double what you initially thought. Make sure you check your finance contract carefully and understand what you are paying for.”
We couldn’t have said it better.
